Stone Tightening

If a gemstone or diamond is spinning or rattling in its setting, it is important to have it secured before daily wear leads to stone loss. Our master jeweler, Igor, evaluates and tightens settings on-site right here in our Brookline storefront.

Stone Tightening Rates: Standard stone tightening starts at $50 – $100, depending on the gemstone layout, setting style (such as prongs or bezels), and metal type. If safely securing your stone requires additional bench work—such as rebuilding worn prongs—we will provide a complete, transparent quote for prong repair after an in-person evaluation before starting any work.

Turnaround Time: Typical turnaround for stone tightening is 1 to 2 weeks.

Please note: Rings set with highly sensitive gems—such as emeralds, opals, pearls, or tanzanite—require careful in-person evaluation to ensure the stone and setting can safely withstand bench pressure.
