Instead, loose stones in our online Gemstone Vault are trade-evaluated and verified directly through our trusted gem cutters and primary suppliers.

If your project specifically requires an independent third-party lab report, we can submit your selected sapphire to a recognized gemological laboratory on your behalf upon stone purchase. Please note that third-party lab testing incurs additional laboratory fees, extends turnaround time, and must be completed after stone selection to comply with supplier return policies. On our bench, Igor focuses on inspecting physical stone structure, cut geometry, and setting security.

How Sourcing & Custom Design Works

  1. Step 1: Free Initial Consultation & Estimate ($0):
    We discuss your sapphire preferences (color, shape, scale) and mounting ideas during a free, no-obligation consultation in-person or via email. Igor will review your specs and calculate an estimated project range before any deposit is required.
  2. Step 2: Gem Sourcing & Vault Deposit:
    You can check active loose stones in our online Gemstone Vault or share your target specs with us. Hand-curating loose sapphires through our supplier networks typically takes 3 to 5 business days. Our $500 Vault Deposit (100% of which applies directly to your finished ring total) covers priority insured shipping to Brookline, a 7-day private shop viewing window, 3D CAD design, and a physical 3D resin model.
  3. Step 3: Physical 3D Resin Model Try-On:
    Before pouring metal, we print a physical 3D resin model of your ring. You can stop by our Brookline Village shop to try it on your finger to check height, scale, and fit in person.
  4. Step 4: On-Site Casting & Hand-Setting:
    Once you approve the resin print, we cast the mounting in 14K gold, 18K gold, or platinum on-site. The mounting is hand-filed and the prongs are fitted directly around your sapphire for a safe, secure hold.
